Funerals
In the event of death of an immediate family member, please notify the church office immediately. Please provide the church with the name of your deceased loved on, the funeral home address and telephone number. Plans for funerals which the Pastor is to have a principle role should not to be finalized until he has been contact. As your church family, we want to do all we can to minister to you through this bereavement. Funerals at St. Paul are to be 45 (forty-five) to 60 (sixty) minutes in length and must be planned accordingly. The church clerk is available to assist you. Finally, it is St. Paul’s policy to have one viewing of the remains. Caskets are to be closed during services and there is no “re-viewing of the remains” following the service. It is suggested that a family hour be held the night before or the day of the funeral, during which the casket is open. Some families may elect to forego this “wake” custom period of “lying in state when only a few members are present. These latter decisions will be left to family discretion.
